About PrimaSTEM
French startup from Cannes building screen-free educational technology.
PrimaSTEM is a French startup from Cannes. We build screen-free educational technology inspired by Seymour Papert's constructionism and Montessori principles.
We watched children spending more and more time in front of screens. We watched math scores fall. And we watched a child's eyes light up when they touched a wooden board and a robot, pressed a button — and the robot did exactly what they told it to.
Papert said: the child should program the computer, not the other way around. We built a device where this works literally — wooden tokens, a tangible control board, a ladybug that draws.
No screen. Hands, eyes, thinking.
Children learn by doing. Not by watching — by doing.
Mathematics is beautiful. When the robot draws a pentagonal spiral, the child sees math as a picture they created themselves.
Technology should be open. Every token is a standard NFC tag. No subscriptions, no walled gardens.
Simplicity takes work. A four-year-old starts in five minutes. A ten-year-old programs arithmetic progressions. Same device.
